About Us
The Palaolimpico in Turin is one of the venues managed by Parcolimpico Srl (www.parcolimpicotorino.it), the company established to carry on the legacy of the XX Olympic Winter Games of Turin 2006. The main shareholder of the company is LIVE NATION (www.livenation.it), the world leader in concert and event production and organization.
Inaugurated in 2005, the venue stands out for its extreme spatial flexibility, exceptional acoustics, and above all, its high-impact aesthetics designed by two internationally renowned architects, Arata Isozaki and Pier Paolo Maggiora. Their vision has made it one of the symbols of 21st-century Turin in the eyes of the world.
This futuristic building appears as a strict parallelepiped—a large volume suspended above the ground, measuring 183 meters in length, 100 meters in width, and 18 meters in height. It extends over four levels, two of which are underground, reaching 7.5 meters below ground level. The entire structure is clad in stainless steel and rests on a five-meter-high glass base.
Thanks to its partnership with Live Nation, the Inalpi Arena in Turin has become the leading venue for music and entertainment in Italy, continuously enhancing its spaces with a 360-degree offering for the public. The great structural flexibility allows the venue to be transformed into various configurations, enabling it to host art exhibitions, trade fairs, corporate conventions, private meetings, theatrical productions, gala dinners, and much more—even simultaneously.
The main entrance, overlooking Piazzale Grande Torino, welcomes visitors into the majestic Foyer Sebastopoli, a 4,000-square-meter space that features exhibition stands and refreshment areas.
All catering services at the Inalpi Arena are managed by CAMST Group (www.camst.it).
Technological and Structural Excellence
The increase in seating capacity is undoubtedly one of the most significant features of excellence at the Inalpi Arena, but not the only one. The structure is already equipped with a modern "sprinkler" fire suppression system above the stage area, smoke evacuation domes across the arena and both foyers, and an advanced "Control Room" that manages all technical systems via home automation.
Recently, safety lines (also known as "life lines" for secure rigging operations) have been installed, and the venue boasts a high load-bearing capacity on its roof of up to 80 tons. Additionally, a sophisticated access control system using anti-counterfeiting digital technologies has been implemented.
A Venue for Sustainable Events
Every type of event—from sports competitions to music concerts, scientific conferences to film festivals, as well as commercial and political gatherings—has a direct impact on the environment and economy at various levels. Consider the consumption of resources such as water and electricity, waste production, effects on biodiversity, logistical organization, and territorial impact, as well as the careful selection and employment of staff and suppliers.
At Inalpi Arena, we firmly believe that environmental protection is one of the most pressing global challenges. That’s why we are committed to applying the best environmental practices to create sustainable events.
Our venue strives to minimize the use of single-use plastic and improve waste separation processes. Inside the facility, mineral water and soft drinks are always served in paper or reusable cups, without plastic bottles or cans being distributed.
Plastic bottles used by in-house catering services are properly collected, placed in designated bins, and sent to municipal recycling facilities. However, ensuring the same level of proper disposal by the general public remains a challenge.
Despite the presence of well-organized and color-coded recycling stations throughout the facility, most waste containers end up contaminated with mixed waste. This contamination prevents proper disposal by the municipal waste management services for paper, plastic, and organic waste, creating a broader issue for the community.
♥ IMPORTANT ♥: VENUE MORPHOLOGY
Our arena was originally built for the 2006 Olympics as an underground SPORTS facility, meaning it has a parterre located at -7.5 meters.
This structural characteristic entails obvious access limitations due to emergency sector regulations. This information is also specified on our website (with a slide linked to the text below).
Seating and services for individuals with mobility impairments are located on the ground floor, along the entire perimeter of the arena, with direct access from outside—free of stairs or other obstacles, in full compliance with current regulations.
To reserve accessible seating, a dedicated service is available, selected by the event organizer (which varies for each event).
Therefore, before coming to Inalpi Arena, it is advisable to check with the event organizers regarding seating accessibility—not only for disabilities but also for temporary mobility difficulties.
